Choose appropriate University / college courses that you have an interest in.
Email or phone the Institution to send you a Prospectus. You can also download Prospectus as pdf files.
Look at their web site, if possible look at students work.
Use Ucas.com to find about courses, and other information about applying to higher education. Ucas stands for University Central Admission System
Email the tutor of the course you are interested in to ask questions that are not available in the prospectus.
Take a note of open days.
What are the entry requirements find out ASAP.
If you are applying for an illustration, animation, graphic design course they will need to see a portfolio / sketchbook.
Prepare yourself for interviews practice with each other. Scenario if you are going for Graphic Design Course would you is able to reference you favourite designers?

Would you consider taking a Foundation or HNC / D course? Many establishments are now offering these courses, for example Art Schools, for many these is a good way of getting onto a competitive course.
