Creating a Professional Personal Progress File and an Art or Multimedia Portfolio
What is Progress File?
Progress File is a set of materials designed to support the processes of planning, achieving and reviewing career aims.
This aims to serve as a document file to help individuals plan their own future:
Understanding the processes of applying to university how to record these.
Recognising the knowledge and skills recognised for a chose career path.
Structured evidenced analysis of possible career development.
Examples of jobs in the multimedia / digital media.
Examples of professionals working in the multimedia / digital media
The Progress File objectives are: -
· To equip you to recognise plan, and manage your career options and make effective choices.
· To increase motivation and confidence to achieve
· To stimulate investigation to gaining knowledge and skills
Progress File is a working document designed for lifelong use. It is a folder with your name displayed; inside are dividers for a CV, a copy of your personal statement, printouts of university courses, printouts of jobs adverts from the web summary of possible career evidences, trips and educational assignments.
The structure of the file should include the following Dividers |

Divider Two.

Print out information about the course. |
Divider Four.
Print out information about the course. |
Divider Five.
Print out information about the course. |
Divider Six. Printout job adverts from the web or newspapers for e.g. graphic design, web design. Evidence at least 3 jobs that you would like to do. Request an application form by telephone, if possible for these jobs. This must be done in a well-spoken voice and must be witnessed by a staff member for assessment marking. |
Divider Seven. Research companies or designers from areas of multimedia that you are interested in for games, print design, animation, web design, and business design. Evidence at least 3 companies or designers. |
Divider eight. Information from trips, exhibitions, etc. |
Divider nine. Course notes for this unit including assignments, handouts, etc. |
